Documented to designer … Read more Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso green and champagne color Italian art glass sculptural bird flower vase. Documented to designer Antonio da Ros, for Vetreria Gino Cenedese, circa 1961. Published (see last photo). The piece is made with Neodymium glass, which changes color from daylight to indoor fluorescent light. In this case, from a champagne (on the body of the bird), to light green once the lights hit it. The bird also contains a high amount of Manganese, which makes it turn a pinkish orange under a black light (see photos). The vase is made in solid glass, with the tail creating the opening of the vase. It is very heavy. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Use it as an actual vase, or display it as a sculpture. Mid-century era. Measures: 10" tall.
