A vibrant heritage kilim handwoven by Eastern European Turkish villagers in the 1970s and preserved untouched for decades.
This rare vintage kilim was woven by Turkish immigrant families living in Eastern Bulgaria, created purely for personal household use rather than commercial production. Its bold floral composition, saturated red ground, and multicolor rose border reflect a distinctive folk-art tradition deeply rooted in Balkan Turkish weaving culture.
Because it was stored carefully for decades (“sandık eskisi”), the kilim remains unused, crisp, and full of original character. Minor natural irregularities along the edges are a typical sign of authentic handwoven craftsmanship. This piece brings warmth, energy, and cultural richness to living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, and open-concept spaces.
