Etching on paper. The etching is part of the rare first edition of "los caprichos" published in 1799 by the calcografia nacional for the real academia of madrid. Plate n. 18. Numbered on the upper right corner. Titled on the lower central margin " y se le quema la casa " (and he burns his house). Good conditions. Dimensions of plate: 3.4 x 2.7 cm. Bonnes marges. The expression of the lazy, disheveled and incapable person, perhaps drunk, shows his absence of the true life and an unconsciousness that does not notice the most serious dangers. The plate indeed represents a man and a chair in flames on the right side. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
