The green deep pumpkin orange classical vase shape made by Muncie Pottry Co. The skin glaze of moss green, and tan/orange is exceptional in color and depth. The green glaze flows nicely down in a crackle glaze into the orange base. Marked on bottom.
Excellent condition
Muncie Pottery began in 1919, deriving from the German-American Clay Company that had opened in 1915. Muncie potters such as A.E. Trifonoff and James Wilkins developed the company's carved designs and colored, matte glazes. Unfortunately, after twenty years of production, Muncie Pottery closed its doors in 1939 due to the Great Depression.
As the premiere manufacturer of art pottery in Indiana, vintage Muncie Pottery is highly collectible, especially to those who enjoy the arts and crafts style. These pieces fit perfectly with a prairie-style decorative scheme
