The vase is decorated with cartouches at the front and back of the vase, of polychrome, blue and red sky dragons chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom amid stylized clouds and flames, above roiling ocean waves and rocks An ornate polychrome Ru Yi border decorates the foot. The neck is banded by large, red and green, leafy lappets, flanked by stylized blue handles, and has a border of ornate Ru Yi lappets, bracketed by double thin blue trim circles, at its flange. The sides of the vase have opposing, polychrome fenghuangs amid an ornate lattice of vines, leaves and flowers. A six character Wan Li reign mark within a rectangle of double blue lines is glazed just below the neck. Circa Republic of Cina era, no later than mid century. See less
