This is an English 19th century brass bowl, forged with a wide, flat rim around (mostly) straight sides rising from a flat base. It has a stamped wave design around its rim, creating a scalloped effect that lends a personal touch to the otherwise simple form. In the center of the base is curious, circular patch ringed with copper rivets. A fantastic display piece for any room around the home, having developed a warm patina with subtle glow. Circa 1890.
