terracotta clay i'm not sure what exactly was used, there is a sound guest when knocking. A knocked off corner without disturbing the head, once glued together. Someone artistically would have to disguise the gluing.
georges petit was a sculptor from liège, where he was a professor at the academy of fine arts. He sculpts from 1901 to 1940. His sculpture is patriotic and strongly inspired by the first world war. Origin:
