Inge is an original etching realized by Giacomo Manzù in the 1970s. Hand-signed. Numbered on the lower left. Edition of 31/125. The state of preservation is very good. Published in the artwork series: "Giacomo Manzù: Fifteen original etchings and aquatints", by Touchstone Suite, New York, 1970. Giacomo Manzù (Bergamo, 1908- Ardea, 1991), pseudonym of Giacomo Manzoni, was a famous italian artist and sculptor. He devoted himself to sculpture, but also to drawings, etchings and paintings, often centered on female models, painters, female dancers, and lovers' figures. His works are valued also abroad, where, as well as in Italy, he exhibited from 1933. He also won several Italian and international prizes thanks to his famous works and his importance in the art field. His works are exposed in several museums, like Vatican Museums and Giacomo Manzù Museum in Ardea. The theme of nude woman dancing is typical in Manzù's works. This theme was encouraged in the 1950sby the meeting between the artist and Inge Schabel, dancer in the Sommerakademie in Salzburg, and a future model for the artist.
