Bran Van Velde ( 1895 - 1981 ) was a Dutch born French Modernist painter known for his remarkable color palette Lyrical Abstraction artworks. He is often considered a member of The School of Paris Movement. Van Velde settled in France in the 1920's where he was represented at the famous Galerie Maeght in Paris in the 1940's. In the early 1960's he gained international critical success. van Velde was seen as the perfect example of Abstract Expressionism in Europe in The Mid Twentieth Century. Willem De Kooning himself thought that Van Velde was the best example of what was to be called Abstract Expressionism across The Atlantic in New York. Artworks by Van Velde are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

The rare out of print Abstract Expressionist framed French poster measures 28 1/4" W X 27 1/4" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte brushed brass finish gold tone metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
