About the Poster: The Italian Navy is the navy of the Italian Republic. It is one of the four branches of Italian Armed Forces and was formed in 1946 from what remained of the Regia Marina after World War II.
The Italian Navy failed to make any real impact during World War Two and after Victor Emmanuel III surrendered in September 1943, Italy's remaining ships sailed to Malta and surrendered to the Allies.
By the late 1950s when this poster was produced, the Navy was looking to reconstitute itself and enrol new sailors. This poster was produced at that time.
In excellent condition, recently linen backed and ready to frame.
