Both collectible and decorative 1930s signed Czechoslovakian black glass vase with silver overlay decoration. This beautifully executed silver decoration features Cybele (Kybele) seated on a lion. This is a typical pose of the mother of the gods and queen of nature from ancient Roman mythology. Bottom band of glass has a satin or frosted finish. Crane decoration on back. Acid etched signature on bottom “CZECHO / SLOVAKIA” from the Art Deco period of Czech glass.
Condition of glass is perfect. Silver overlay has some minor losses — mainly on the top banding as shown in the photos.
