Cy Twombly ( 1928 - 2011 ) is an American born Abstract Expressionist painter, sculptor and photographer. Twombly is said to have influenced younger artists such as Jean Michel Basquiat, Anselm Kiefer, Francesco Clemente and Julian Schnabel.
