The highly grained oak has had a few coats of paint over the years. Most of the front facing paint is white, the sides have mostly light green and light blue paint. While the beadboard is old and original, I think it might be a wood other than oak. This has chipping, scuffed and distressed paint. It can be left essentially as it is or fully restored or anything inbetween. I think some more appropriate shelving boards and shelf supports would be a good improvement no matter if you leave it painted or not. Aside from the fixed middle shelf the shelves are make do additions in a thick mismatched, unpainted wood board. The shelf supports added are very improvised and similarly primitive. There's a few random screws and nails in the beadboard backer. Other areas have some small holes from previously attached cup hooks or nails to hang items from. The majority of the moulding at the front of the fixed middle shelf is original to this but a piece of quarter round trim was added to the top side. The beadboard has a long crack running vertically near the edge. There's a gap between the bottom and the side piece, it's probably fairly easy to resolve by tapping it in place with a rubber mallet. There's a primitive metal patch in the beadboard at the lower edge. Please study the photos carefully for a clearer sense of the condition. less
