Inspired from The Ardabil Carpet from the Safavid Dynasty, this hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Tabriz area rug features a beige circular 16-point center medallion flanked by a ring of sixteen pointed ovals surrounded by an all-over floral pattern composed of blooming palmettes, serrated leaves, stylized flowers and arabesque vines. Chandelier lamps hang at each end of the medallion and complementary spandrels echo the medallion design. The Persian Tabriz rug is framed by a classic cartouche border and flanked with an outer guard border and an inner double guard band. Rendered in variegated shades beige, robin's egg blue, light green, rose, mauve, plum, tan, sand, and ecru. Some color run. Desirable Age Wear. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran (Persia).
