Handcrafted in France in the early 20th century, most likely the Bordeaux region, exceptionally executed in timeless 18th century Louis XV style, in an understated Provincial / country French taste.

High-quality solid wood construction, featuring richly carved ornamentation, decorative Rocaille elements, and ornate bronze hardware, finished in a softly polished warm rich rustic dark brown walnut stained finish with mellow tones, attractive grain detail, luminous warmth, depth, and lustrous antique sheen, enhanced by nicely aged patina. Having a wooden bow front top with serpentine shaped projecting corners and molded edge, over the rectangular case fitted with three large drawers providing generous storage, each dovetailed with gently curved serpentine drawer-fronts affixed with dramatic scrolling gilt bronze pulls and accented by scrolling recessed reserves and cascades of leaves and flower carvings, flanked by rounded corner post uprights with tall narrow recessed reserves, paneled sides, over an ornately carved scalloped apron adorned with trailing foliage and seashell reliefs, raised on short cabriole legs adorned with oversized acanthus leaf knee carvings, terminating in whorl feet.
