more19th Century Italian Neoclassical five drawer chest or commode styled in the manner of Directoire. The burled wood top and paneled sides have a beautifully detailed inset inlay surrounded by a banded outer edge. A solid and symmetrically designed case contains three smaller upper drawers over two larger ones, all having matching inlays. Classic Directoire style brass bail-handle hardware and shield escutcheons adorn each drawer while the top center drawer still has its functioning lock and key. The antique chest rests on tapered block feet and brass casters. The wood and veneers used include walnut, fruitwood, rosewood, satinwood, and ebony.
This is a chest of elegant proportions and measures 34" tall x 42.5" wide and 20.5" deep. It is in great antique condition with only mild wear appropriate with age and use. less

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
- Once shipping or pickup has been initiated, the cancellation will be considered a return and you will be responsible for the cost of shipping.
