Silver has a long history. In addition to utensils, they are also ornamental & showpieces, masterfully made.
Silverware used to be mainly considered an investment. In times of war or crisis, the silverware was melted down and cashed in again. It was therefore of great importance that the indicated silver content was correct. At the silver guild, the silversmith promised under oath that he would not process gold and silver that did not meet the specified quality. The master's mark on silver was originally intended to expose silversmiths who did not adhere to the set silver levels. Today it is mainly seen as a personal stamp. In this way it tells us more about the maker and the time from which the silverware originates. The ornamental pieces are openwork sawn by hand or molded representations, cast works of art hammered into exceptional shapes that are guaranteed to steal the show at the table. Dining with silver makes every moment special.
