Graceful Chinese statue of fine pure white porcelain (blanc de chine) of Kwan Yin or Guanyin 観音 on a detailed base of individually hand crafted lotus leaves and flowers. This 14" goddess of compassion is dressed in long flowing garments and holds a symbolic lotus flower in her left hand. She is the Buddhist deity associated with mercy and compassion. This type of porcelain is produced at Dehua, Fujian Province, China.
Mid 20th Century.
These statues look stunning against a contrasting background or well lit cast a nice shadow.
