I was lucky enough to recently acquire an estate collection of prints by important American printmaker Walter Buttrick. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. I am currently listing a few different examples of his work but if you are interested in seeing all the other works I have available by him, check out the Facebook page for Jonah Fine Art. This is one of my favorites of the collection. A wonderful view of the famous British racing car sitting waiting for the race at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. This is a color reduction linocut with the image measuring 18 1/4 x 14 inches on complete original sheet measuring 25 3/4 x 20 inches. This one is not signed, titled or numbered. I did have an original that was signed and numbered and titled but this is one of the few I got with the original image that was never signed. Just as good a print and guaranteed 100% authentic. Image is in fantastic as printed condition. Unframed. Really just a superior example of the artist's work. For those not familiar with the artist, his biography from a gallery that sells his art reads: "Walter Buttrick was born outside of Boston, MA. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston with concentration in painting and printmaking and further studied at the San Francisco Art Institute. Professionally, Walter worked in the point of purchase display industry with a number of designs and patents to his credit. Additionally, he is a retired veteran with a career as an Army officer. As a printmaker, he has exhibited throughout the USA. His work is in the Connecticut Historical Society and in private collections in Europe, New Zealand and the USA. From his studio in Norwalk, CT, Walter has generated a volume of etchings, dry points, wood engravings and linoleum block prints, typically pushing the limits of each technique. He is a member of the Boston Printmakers, the Society of American Graphic Artists, the Albany Print Club and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, Connecticut." See less
