Here is a Mid-Century folk art relic of tobacciana in the form of a string instrument ashtray. Glazed in shades of green, decorative swirls lend loads of personality, three concave stringed instrument "frets" cleverly comprise resting places for cigarettes.
The underside has three "feet" for resting on a surface, is signed with the artist's initials, mold name and dated 1963.
This versatile item can serve as a display piece, catchall, candy dish, conversation piece, or as it's originally intended purpose on the coffee table!
