Capturing the spirit of summer, Mary Faulconer's depiction of a series of fruits laid out on a cutting board on a table over a red, white, and blue patterned carpet or tile is bright and fresh. Rendered as flat forms with little depth, the artist creates dimension by angling the table and relying on shading and the layering of objects.
