The Modernist exhibition poster print is published by the famous Honkin Gallery Inc. Palm Beach, Florida. printed in 1975 in an unnumbered limited edition of the occasion of the Larry Zox / Paintings exhibition.

Larry Zox ( 1937 - 2006 ) was an American Modernist Abstract Expressionist painter, printmaker, and arts educator associated with the Minimalist, Color Field, and Lyrical Abstractionist movements, although he described himself as a colorist. His Abstract compositions have drawn comparisons to those of Frank Stella and Kenneth Noland. Zox was included in " Systemic Painting ", the groundbreaking 1966 exhibition of Geometric Abstraction at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum New York, and was also honored with a solo exhibition at The Whitney Museum in 1973, and included in the inaugural exhibit at The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Zox's signature style artworks of juxtaposed forms in vibrant colors are included in the collections of more than 100 of the most prestigious museums.

In the early 1970's there were five art galleries for every grocery store in the exclusive Florida resort town of Palm Beach. During this period in time the town's fine art fixation became a major destination for international art collectors. Palm Beach's many galleries were somewhat specialized. The famous Honkin Gallery became known for featuring internationally known Modern artists including Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, and Victor Vasarely among others.

The rare out of print Mid Century Modern framed exhibition poster print measures 24" W X 31 1/2" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detailed lemon yellow matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
