Judith Bledsoe's rendering of a clown riding a horse in a circus is evocative of the plaful and whimsical nature of her prints. Clothed in an outfit of yellow, blue, and red dots with a matching hat, the mustached clown holds a scepter in one hand and an orb-like object in the other. Rearing up on its hind legs, the horse may only be shown in black and white, but the ornate and highly detailed designs across the body of the animal are only emphasized by the boot-like stockings worn by the horse over its lower legs.
