Vladislav Urban, born 1937 in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, is a glass and jewelry designer. Urban, among others, was instrumental in the evolution of Czech pressed glass production. This midcentury modern lovely heavy golden amber pressed glass vase has an abstract design of circles and intersecting lines that terminate as protrusions in the vase. This vessel, #619, was produced at the Sklo Union Rosice in 1968.
During the Communist era, glass production was delegated to Czechoslovakia while the making of ceramics and pottery was assigned to Hungary.
Measurements: 3 1/2 inches deep x 7 1/2 inches wide x 4 3/4 inches high
