Hand colored copper plate engraving by German Apothecarist and Botanist Johann W Weinmann (1683-1745)
Weinmann born in Germany on March 13, 1683, started his career as an apothecary assistant enabling him to open his own apothecary establishment and following his botany dream.
Beautiful framed mezzotint of herbs presented in gilt gold and white matting, gilt gold frame under glass.

Provenance:
Original Weinmann engraving was purchased at Prints Etc in San Francisco’s Jackson Street location. Prints Etc/Graham Arader Galleries together with Lyons Prints (owner deceased) were the top three print dealers in San Francisco.
