The Gateleg design feature, typical of drop-leaf tables of the period, supports the leaves and extends the table's width to 26.5". When the leaves are down, the narrow center of the table is 12" deep x 16.5" wide and 22" high. It was used as a table for tea service, games, and writing in Victorian times.
