The rare out of print lithograph print travel poster is published by United Airlines in 1947. It features an iconic outstanding Mid Century Modern style artwork image created by Joseph Feher of a United Airlines Douglas DC-6 flying over New York City's Central Park. United Airlines first introduced the DC-6 into their fleet in 1947 thereby offering passengers a pressurized cabin service for the first time. Central Park's famous Gapstow Bridge is seen along with the iconic Plaza Hotel and other landmark building along Fifth Avenue.

Joseph Feher ( 1908 - 1987 ) was a Hungarian born watercolorist artist, painter, and illustrator known for his beautiful pictorial style illustrative artworks of exotic destinations. Feher was a classically trained artist in Budapest Hungary, Florence Italy, and Chicago. In 1946 United Airlines invited Feher to create commissioned artworks of their inaugural voyage to Hawaii, embarking on what would become the beginning of an award winning collaborative relationship. Feher's travel related artworks were in demand worldwide for many decades. An example of this same poster is held in the permanent collection of The Smithsonian Institution National Air and Space Museum.

The Mid Century Modern lithograph print framed large format travel poster measures 26" W X 41 1/8" H X 1 1/2" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern natural white oak wood museum box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent condition. The poster print is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling and minor light surface wear. There is some tape residue in the upper corners area. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. Please see photos for condition reference.
