An expressive modernist brass cat sculpture by Ecuadoran artist and sculptor, Oswaldo Guayasamin (1919-1999). The charming cat sports Salvador Dali style whiskers, a curly tail with a spring and red glass eyes (maybe a little too much Sangria). The incised design gives the brass surface the impression of texture and the detail at the paws is sublime. A great combination of whimsy and modernism for a mid century themed decor or an eclectic art collection. Signed on the tail...apple shown for scale.

Very good vintage condition with a darkened patina indicative of the age.
