Outstanding, bold vintage Mid-Century pottery sculpture in vase form dating to the 1960s-70s. Brutalist in style and construction, this stoneware piece is functional as a vase but has a pierced, see-through center section — somewhat skeletal in appearance. On its trumpet form is an amazing earthy glaze and incised surface. Signed with an incised mark on the bottom with a “JH” and “GM”, this piece is could be a significant find. Very good original condition.
Last photo shows the vase in an installation of mid- to late-20th century pottery that we styled for a show house. Other items from this installation are available for purchase and will be listed on Chairish.
