His … Read more Andre Arbus was a widely acclaimed furniture designer, architect and sculptor working in Paris in the 1930 – 50’s. His furniture was inspired by French Classicism, but Arbus re-interpreted this in very modern ways. This pair of chairs is a perfect example. They are beautifully executed in sycamore with a red lacquer, and models of perfect form and proportion. They are upholstered in dark brown silk velvet. These chairs are from the William Switzer Furniture Company. They are authorized reproductions of an Arbus armchair. They are in excellent condition. See less
