For Italy, it is a bella figura that one desires to make a magnificent personal statement at home. At 76" in height with bold classic details in original old finish, this may work to achieve that for you. An ornamented classic urn filled with florets sits above and is flanked by vines. The draped base is supported by scrolls atop a leaf-rimmed frame. The lower corners complete this flowing theme with urn-form drops. The dusty original gilt speaks solemnly of the golden age of design and talent of the carver and gilder.
Circa 1785 and with no major repair. Later glass has some graying in areas.. Likely northern Italy.
