A large Chinese Canton export punch bowl or Centerpiece
Decorated with alternating panels of groups of figures amongst courtly buildings, and birds, butterflies, fruit and flowers, on a green scrolled and gilt ground, now in elaborate European Neo-Classical two-handled gilt bronze mounts, hung with a pair of 'laurel' wreaths.
The porcelain mid 19th century, the mounts late 19th century.
