This is a lovely milk glass spill/spoon vase made by Boston & Sandwich in New England. It is pressed in flint.
FYI: A spill is a thin piece of wood that was used in the past, before matches, to take the fire from the fireplace and light the candles in the room. (Spills are now used to light cigars slowly, without getting the odor of the match or lighter. With the advent of striking matches, the spill holder became useful as a spoon holder, hence the dual name.
This is a beautiful raised sawtooth Diamond pattern. This is a chalice-shaped vase with a short fluted stem and ray pattern on the base. The flaring sawtoothed rim is stunning.

There is a little roughness on the base that is expected on the factory mold process. There are faint grayish shadings and tiny black speckles that are commonly found in early Boston & Sandwich glassware. This vase is heavy due to lead content and resonates like brass bells when struck. less
