An incredibly rare pair of lounge or club chairs by the Great Henry Olko for his Willow and Reed firm, circa 1980. These stunning examples are from Olko's boutique “Rib“ series. Expertly crafted Rattan construction with a magnificent architectural Silhouette. This particular seating series displays all of the design characteristics that makes this gifted Artist's work so memorable and special. An accomplished formally trained architect with a Master's degree from MIT, Mr. Olko was never satisfied with the ordinary; he routinely reached to achieve the spectacular. His furniture is far more than Rattan - it is Art! Important pieces designed to anchor an important space. Great condition. The rattan has aged to absolute perfection. The rattan projects a rich warmth and depth. All accent bindings are intact and complete.
