The lithograph print Pop Art poster is published by The National Gallery of Art Washington, printed in 1991 in an unnumbered limited edition by Museum Editions West, Marina Del Rey California. It features an iconic artwork image originally created by Thiebaud in 1963 titled " Cakes ", gift in honor of the 50th anniversary of The National Gallery of Art from The Collectors Committee, The 50th Anniversary Committee, with additional support from The Abrams Family in memory of Harry N. Abrams, 1991 copyright National Gallery of Art.

Wayne Thiebaud ( 1920 - 2021 ) is an American painter widely known for his luscious handling of paint, and brilliant colorful palette of works depicting commonplace objects that combined sensuousness, nostalgia and a hint of melancholy. Thiebaud is associated with The Pop Art Movement because of his interest in objects of mass culture. Although his early works, executed during the 1950's and 1960's, slightly predate the works of classic Pop artist. He uses heavy pigment and exaggerated colors to depict his subjects, and the well defined shadows characteristic of advertising are almost always included in his work. Art works by Thiebaud are in included in the collections of many of the most prestigious museums.

The rare out print framed Pop Art museum poster measures 29 1/4" W X 27 3/4" H X 7/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern buttercream yellow matte eggshell finish wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean vintage condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
