The pattern is reflected in the gold gilded metal (solid cast metal, not hollow tubing) base. Top is removable.
This is a very high-end, well-made, sturdy (heavy) piece. Although we have yet to identify the manufacturer, this table came from a very wealthy estate, furnished with only the finest.

Stone top has just been professionally cleaned, polished and sealed.
