This redware jug has dark black glaze with bunting style tassel decoration and unique top with pierced holes and a thumb hole, probably a puzzle jug. The bottom of the jug as an affixed label from the George S. Mckearin collection of American Pottery, the piece was probably part of the 1931/1932 auction of his collection.

Condition: Large chip on the side of the pitcher.
