Mid 20th-century beauty, circa 1960; a gorgeous accent that will complement any space, any style. I’ve always had faux greens in it but it can be used to house live plants as long as you keep them in an insert so as not to damage the wood on the interior. It measures 12½” x 7¼” x 6” W/D/H; interior 11½” x 5¼” W/D; weight 1 lb. 10 oz. The box frame is handcrafted from bamboo wood panels; sides are slender split bamboo reeds and banded border is made from wide split bamboo reeds. Colors are naturally aged tortoiseshell bamboo; banded border is scorched red lacquer in color; panels are stained dark brown. I have placed round silicone button feet on the bottom of each corner to protect surfaces which can be removed. In excellent condition overall. Since wood is an organic material, it shrinks across the grain with age so there is age appropriate wear, specifically a bit of separation on the corner of the banded border (see photo) which has no effect on the look-and-feel of this cutie. Unknown maker.
