Created in France at the end of the 19th century, this porcelain plate, created by ceramist Edmond Lachenal, features a scene from the Belle-Époque. A woman, holding an umbrella in her back, is sitting in a small boat while a man is standing, rowing to lead them along the lake. Framed with luscious tree branches in the front, the scene blends beautifully in the purple toned background.
