this first series produced by les choses is an aesthetic exploration of the primary element. With its bold lines and brutalist design, the brasero n° 4 reflects the commitment of designer yoan claveau de lima to not let form be dictated by function.
these pieces, conceived as real sculptures, are steel monoliths that embody the age-old need for human beings to rationalize the natural force of the flame. After several months of prototyping in situation, yoan claveau de lima has found the ideal composition and the right assemblies to obtain parts resistant to the rise in temperature. The use of corten steel, thanks to its predisposition to self-skating, inscribes the pieces in a long time.
the encounter between the tension of the lines, the brutality of the material and the sensuality of the flames, offers this series an accuracy that is both aesthetic and functional. Here more than a symbolic opposition, a translation to be one with the element and sharing with its relatives: anchoring in the ground, multiplication of the faces of the object, proximity of the home, food. The robustness of the pieces, the unalterable material and the sincerity of their creation make them subjects inscribed in an intergenerational temporality.
