The beautiful wax object represents a profile of the famous vate poet Gabriele D'Annunzio. Aurelio Mistruzzi (1880 – 1960) was an Italian sculptor and medalist. The production of Mistruzzi in the fields of medals and coinage concerned not only the civil sphere but also the Vatican, for which he designed annual commemorative and jubilee medals. He was also recognized as a monumental sculptor: in addition to the monuments to the fallen of the Great War, he dedicated himself to cemetery sculpture, as well as to numerous other requests from private clients.
