The sheet is glued on cardboard (cm 63.5 x 50). Titled, signed on the lower margin. Published by Cadart & Luquet Editeurs. Printed by Delâtre, Rue St. Jacques, Paris. Very good conditions. Very fresh and beautiful artwork representing a genre scene in an interior of a house. The figures represents some children eating with their mother. On the lower right corner, a small dog watching the scene. The artwork has been realized by the English artist Edward Thomson Davis (1833-1867) a genre painter, active especially in Worcester, England. He studied at Birmingham School of Design and then at Worcester School of Design, and worked with his students. He exhibited his work at the Royal Academy, starting in 1854. His drawings can be find in the collection of The Tate Gallery. Other works are in Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Shipley Art Gallery, Worcester City Museum and the Ashmolean Museum.
