Edition … Read more Fragment (Frammento) is an original etching realized by Gaetano Pompa. Image dimensions: 15 x 12.5 cm. Very good conditions. Edition of 60 prints, numbered and signed on the lower left of the artwork. Gaetano Pompa was born in 1933 in Forenza. After the war, he moved with his family to Rome. From 1958 to 1961, he lived in Munich, where he also carried out an intense artistic activity as a musician. When he returned to Italy, he spent most of his life in Rome. He disappeared in Orbetello in 1998. In all his artworks, the artist tried to revive the poetry of the past through his airy and distant landscapes and his ambiguous and sometimes paradoxical figures, creating a series of suggestions that overlap with the insistence of memories, mixing past and present with a visionary enchanting faculty.
