Dim: 14,5 x 11 Header of photographer on the lower edge on the front and on the back. Print is in very good conditions, without any dent on the cardboard but only some foxing. Good croming of albumen print. This is a rare portrait of Giuseppe Garibaldi (1808 - 1882) a photographer whose works are very hard to find. We have no biographical information of Giuseppe Puppo, we can think that having portrayed Garibaldi was a sign of high technical and stylistic prestige. From the style of cardboard and the age of Garibaldi, this portrait was certainly made in the mid 70s of the nineteenth century. In the picture the hero appears not yet afflicted by old age, showing a proud profile and the tricolor scarf tied around his neck.
