Printed by Imprimerie de Lemercier, Bernard & Co. in Paris (printed on plate on lower center). The artwork is after an original painting realized by the artist Eugène Deveria in 1838. The print represents the episode of The Marriage of Figaro, a comedy in five acts written in 1778 by Pierre Beaumarchais. Louis Stanislas Marin-Lavigne (1797 - 1860) was a French painter and lithographer. Many of his lithographs today are in major collections in London and New York City. See less
