Second half … Read more Silver-plated Metal Bell. 5 Silver-plated metal service bells with wide ribs and gadroon moldings, the richly chiseled fritel. Second half of the XIXth century. Diameter: 26 cm - Height: 30 cm. For the whole of oval shape 39 cm long and 25 cm high. Some bumps on the gadroons are to be noted. Rare to find a set with the heater underneath. A mark on the circumference marked silver and punches that we have not deciphered. The bell plate cover multiplied on the tables from 1750. Its use in a meal is called "à l'assiette clochée", that is to say the fact of setting up the plate in the kitchen before transporting it.
