Numerus Mensura Pondus is an original lithograph realized by the Italian artist Felice Casorati (1883-1963) in 1946. Not signed. Title present on the same lithograph. In very good conditions. Beautiful artwork representing one of Casorati favorite themes, that is human bodies and nudes. From the portfolio Dieci Litografie (Numerus, Mensura, Pondus) published in 1946 by La Collezione del Bibliografo, Turin. Nudes was one of the classic academic themes and a constant in Casorati artworks. The attention to the human body, often depicted in its nudity, represents one of the most analyzed motifs by the Italian artist throughout his creative life. ''The nude of a woman becomes an almost obsessive and repeated presence within her work; it is the symbol of a rational search. The motto - Numerus, mensura, pondus -, which in its brevity gives us perhaps the closest intimate portrait of the man and the artist, helping us also to find the key to decode the mental attitude of his painting, proposes mathematical rules in the construction of the body that Casorati knows well and uses almost as mental schemes to construct his figures inside the studio space or a room'' writes Claudia Gianferrari. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
