The enamel work on this particular piece is beautifully rendered and is transparent, allowing you to see the gold underneath while also paying attention to the lines of warm tones, tiger striping, and a bluish nose, depicting a tiger in impeccable detail.

The tiger holds an Old European Cut diamond in its mouth, while a smaller Old European Cut diamond denotes its eye. The larger diamond measures 3.5 mm; the one in its eye measures 1.85 mm. The pendant contains 0.25 carats of natural antique diamonds. They are SI1 in clarity and H-I in color.

The brooch measures 1.25” x 1” and weighs 7.55 grams. It is marked with the initials MJW in a lyrical Victorian script on the back of the brooch. Acid tests as 14k gold. The brooch is in near perfect condition with light, age-appropriate wear to the enamel along the edge of the pendant. The back of the brooch still has a hook that would have originally been used to clip in a pendant watch. The hook can be used to add an additional charm to dangle below the brooch.
