A neat coin slot is cast directly into the dorsal ridge of the back to accept coins, while the reverse is detailed with an integral relief-moulded corkscrew tail. The face is minimally defined with subtle moulded eye markings flanking the bridge of the snout. The vessel is pressed from thick, durable glass displaying a rich honey-amber tone. Because the glass varies in thickness throughout the form, the colour deepens to near-chestnut around the solid ears, snout rim, and lower base corners, while the hollow flanks remain brightly translucent under ambient light. A visible longitudinal mould seam runs along the spine and underside, characteristic of mid-century british commercial glass manufacture. Four broad foot points are incorporated directly into the lower curve of the body, providing a stable, level stance on flat surfaces. The pig serves both as a decorative table accent and as a functioning novelty savings bank, allowing coins to gather visibly inside the translucent amber belly. Dating from the mid-20th century, the bank was manufactured in britain by cascade. It retains its original black-and-silver foil manufacturer's label positioned on the lower right flank, cleanly printed with the stylised twin-arch cascade logo above 'cascade england'. The piece measures approximately 140 mm in height and 160 mm from snout to tail. It remains in excellent condition, with clean, undamaged surfaces free from chips, cracks, or fleabites, and the original maker's foil label securely in place. See less
