Designed by Michael Harris for Isle of Wight Studio Glass, the flattened disc or 'lollipop' form is one of the firm's most recognisable shapes, pairing substantial glass weight with a slender neck and compressed profile. The vase is hand-blown with a distinctive asymmetrical twist at the lip, which is formed during hot-working rather than cut. Fine trailing and trapped bubbles run vertically through the neck, catching the light alongside delicate horizontal threading wrapped across the broad shoulders of the body. Retaining its original black and silver paper workshop label towards the lower front edge reading 'Isle of Wight Glass Hand Made', the piece also features the impressed studio seal into the polished pontil mark on the base. Production of this form dates from the late 1970s into the 1980s.

The vase measures approximately 15.5 cm to 16 cm in height and 14 cm across the widest point of the body. It displays upright on an integrated narrow flat base, making it well-suited for a display shelf or mantelpiece. Condition is excellent throughout. The glass is crisp and free from any chips, cracks, or restorations. The factory label remains firmly attached with only light vintage age-wear to its foil surface. See less
